About


We are based in Oslo and support global health projects and organizations in Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia. We provide your organization with technical support, research, monitoring and evaluation advise and development of training curricula. We focus on strengthening what we believe are core pillars of successful interventions: strong evidence, ongoing training and support and motivated teams.



Candela Iglesias Chiesa

Candela is passionate about using evidence to advance global health and social development in the world. Her aim is to support local actors to strengthen their programmes through better data and sharing of results, developing leadership skills and building stronger teams.

She holds an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and did her PhD research at the Pasteur Institute in Paris.

Candela has over 18 years of experience on HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases, along with experience in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Maternal, Child and Adolescent health, gender equity, psychosocial support and mental health programmes.

She has worked with NGOs, research organizations and health institutions in Latin America and Africa, supporting them in:

  • Developing health and psychosocial support programmes.
  • Analysing results and sharing lessons learned in adequate venues.
  • Understanding and setting up monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Strengthening organizational processes.
  • Training individuals in public speaking and leadership skills
  • Designing and imparting workshops to train facilitators in health issues (HIV-AIDS, Sexual health, qualitative and quantitative data analysis).

Joanne Fielding - Market Development and Project Manager

Joanne is GHA's Market Development and Project Manager. She helps drive the growth of our organization by researching and creating opportunities, developing and sharing content and working with our partners and clients.

Joanne holds a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine from James Cook University, Australia and is passionate about creating public health policy solutions that make a real difference for individuals. Joanne has a special interest in child and maternal health, neglected tropical diseases and disaster and humanitarian relief.

She is also a Critical Care Registered Nurse who has served in two of Sydney’s largest hospitals in the Emergency Department and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Joanne holds a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Notre Dame Australia and a Master of Clinical Nursing (Critical Care) from the University of Tasmania. Joanne has been certified in Emergency Triage, Advanced Adult Cardiovascular Life Support and Paediatric Advanced Life Support.

Joanne has been involved in workplace training and education and developed specific hospital based policy and procedures. She enjoys mentoring and coaching newly registered nurses and students through developing their clinical knowledge and skills. She actively seeks new information and research which can be used to improve patient outcomes.
